I worked on my Master's in Counselling Psychology after raising my five children, including identical triplets. I was anything but a stay-at-home mom, volunteering or working whatever part-time gig that would add to the family finances. All along, I have been learning about all things psychological. I grew up with a lot of adverse childhood experiences and spent my early adult years learning how to 'fix' myself and get healthier. When I was able to return to work, the choice to become a psychotherapist was clear. My interest in how we think, feel, behave and adapt has been a constant thread of curiosity.
I've always been an optimist and when I studied the science behind how we behave, think and feel, I knew that people who were suffering could be helped. Even the devastating effects of trauma are because our mind, body, and heart are piggybacking on each other, making sure we don't get harmed again. Trauma is a learned response and we can un-learn that reaction or learn a new reaction. We aren't the 'damaged goods' like shell-shocked soldiers were treated during the world wars. Research into trauma has given us great techniques that I am excited to share.
My goal is to work myself out of a job. Peoples' ability to heal themselves will help others to heal. Hope will ripple through families, communities, and the world. It's a big dream but we know that in this time, anything is possible.
Work with me to realize your innate worth and how dynamic you are. The world needs the beautiful YOU.

You deserve a beautiful life. Things that have happened to you do not need to weigh you down anymore. If you are not living the life you were meant to lead, I am here to support you.
We will get to know each other to see if you like my style. A big part of this is about our relationship; you need to trust me, or feel like I can earn your trust. You will feel safe with me and yourself.
We will explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, clarifying the gap between how things are and what you want them to be.
Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery through self-compassion. I have the tools and professional experience to help you get back on track.
Life is going to get so much better.
